This past weekend in Miami, Vittori has entered the hypercar landscape as the startup unveiled its first concept model, the Turbio. It’s a limited-edition hybrid hypercar developed in collaboration with legendary Italian design house Pininfarina and powered by Italtecnica’s newly built 6.8-liter V12 engine. The Turbio is Vittori’s official introduction to the world of hypercars, a category which surpasses the already elite ‘supercar’ for its ultra-rarity and attention to detail that could never be mass-produced.

 

While the Turbio is a running concept, the car will be produced in Italy, with only fifty examples to be made. Deliveries are estimated to begin in late 2027, each priced around $2.5 million before potential customizations according to the needs of each client.

Vittori’s collaboration with Pininfarina links the young company with a century-old coachbuilding heritage, a good strategy for a startup beginning with a hypercar. Founded in 1930, Pininfarina has shaped some of the most important silhouettes in automotive history — from Ferraris and Maseratis to Alfa Romeos. Its contribution to the Turbio is clear with its sculpted proportions, which were translations of the Vittori team’s first visions.

 

designboom met with Carlos Cruz at the hypercar’s unveiling at the Concours Club in Miami, where he spoke about the role of artificial intelligence in the design process. Vittori began to create the earliest visions of the car using AI tools to generate hundreds of concept sketches. He explained that these renders were next handed over to the team at Pininfarina, who interpreted those sketches within the technical realities of production, and transformed the idea into this final Turbio concept.

 

AI was a tool for exploration, he tells designboom,a way to iterate quickly and visualize possibilities.’ Yet, as with most so-called AI-assisted design projects, the substance lies less in algorithms and more in human decision-making. The sketches were a conceptual seed. Pininfarina’s design team ultimately determined the car’s proportions, surfacing, and ergonomics through traditional methods. While the invocation of AI in car design is provocative and controversial, its role here appears mainly an aesthetic part of the concept design stage.

3D-printed titanium parts by Totum3D

 

At the event, Armando Cruz, Vittori’s Head of Operations, expanded on the company’s approach to advanced manufacturing with its hypercar. ‘We’re using additive manufacturing, or 3D printing,’ he explains, holding up a titanium component designed for the Turbio’s pedal assembly. ‘Parts of the car are fabricated with 3D-printed titanium. It’s essential that we use materials like aluminum and titanium, because titanium, being lighter, allows for better heat reduction and thermal control. Aluminum keeps the structure light as well.’

 

He continues:The benefits are weight reduction, design freedom, and rapid customization. With 3D printing, you can create parts that flow with the design and prototype them quickly.’ Vittori’s manufacturing partner, Totum3D, will handle the fabrication of select titanium elements.

 

The concept will also integrate carbon-ceramic brakes and carbon fiber parts throughout. Several chassis and body elements are said to be produced through AI-assisted 3D printing, yet for all its promise, the project remains at a formative and largely theoretical stage.

‘orion’ engine developed with Italtecnica

 

Inside, the Vittori Turbio carries an engine developed by Italtecnica and inspired by the engineering heritage of Claudio Lombardi, the legendary powertrain designer behind Ferrari’s Formula 1 engines of the early 1990s. The ‘Orion’ V12 is naturally aspirated, and forms part of a hybrid powertrain expected to bring over 1,100 horsepower.

The team notes that this combination of mechanical purity and hybrid assistance is what they mean when they aim for a ‘futuristic hypercar’ that remains analogue in feel.

 

While precise figures remain unreleased, the Turbio hopes for a place among the world’s fastest production-bound vehicles. More than speed, however, Vittori emphasizes emotion. ‘Our dream was to create a beautiful, high speed vehicle that evoked emotion and a sense of connection,Carlos Cruz explains.We didn’t want to make another supercar — we wanted to build something that feels like flight, like sculpture, like power at your fingertips.’

Storage-savvy Auriga Explorer transforms the Ford Ranger into a wild off-grid adventurer

In general, truck campers are built to be stout. It’s the same with the Auriga Explorer as well. What sets this German camper apart from the others, however, is its finesse, materials, and the ample storage onboard. The Auriga Explorer combines the “freedom of a compact four-wheel drive pickup truck” with the “comfort of a luxurious expedition vehicle,” Frank Haltermann, Design Engineer & Managing Director, informs.

Designed for an unforgettable adventure off the beaten track, the Auriga Explorer is manufactured and assembled in Germany. It’s built on either the back of a Ford Ranger or a Volkswagen Amarok, and features a GRP (glass-fiber-reinforced plastic) body. The high-quality composite combines fiberglass and plastic to offer lightweight construction, weather-resistance, and durability for overland travel in a wide range of climates.

The Auriga Explorer measures 5.85 m long, 2.25 m high, and 2.10 m wide. The interior is 8 sqm, and features a pneumatic pop-top roof, transforming the otherwise compact interior into a spacious home with 2.05m headroom at the highest point. An electro-pneumatic actuation system lifts the two-panel roof while the three button-activated slide-outs in the camper body make room for storage. The pop-up roof fits in a cozy alcove bedroom comprising split beds, which fold upward individually so one person can continue sleeping, while the other gets down to start their day.

It’s not just the upward space creation; the camper can slide out on the sides and the rear as well. The rear slide-out, for instance, serves as the garage storage to carry your gear. Slide-outs on the left and right sides let you store clothes and everyday travel accessories. A tall wardrobe separating the kitchen from the dinette inside can be used for hanging jackets and other necessities. The seating area with benches and a pull-out table offers space for up to six people, which can be used for dining, playing, or chatting with friends/family during the day. When the night falls, the seating area can be transformed into a comfortable guest bed.

The compact kitchen within the Auriga Explorer is provided with a diesel-powered two-burner hob and oven. Just on the opposite side, the removable floor and fold-out walls make space for a shower cubicle, while a dry separation toilet integrated inside can be pulled out when required. This truck camper is only a prototype at the time of writing. The website notes that Auriga Explorer will be available by the end of 2025, though when and for how much remains a mystery. If you’re someone away from Germany, you can take heart from the fact that the camper is designed to fit into a standard overseas container. So, the company should be able to transport it to any navigable corner of the world.

Christ & Gantenbein realizes the exhibition design for Paris Internationale 2023-2024 at Poste Bergère-Trudaine, following their work on the 2022 edition of the independent art fair known for its nomadic character and commitment to spatial reuse. The architects propose a system of walls instead of boxes, replacing enclosed booths with open partitions that subtly guide circulation, creating visual and spatial permeability, and inviting chance encounters between visitors, artworks, and galleries. The bays, open at both ends and slightly set back from the facade, form multiple pathways through the building, while, in some instances, two galleries even share a single bay.

 

True to Paris Internationale’s stripped aesthetic, the architectural language remains elemental, composed of neon lighting, simple walls with minimal finishes, and reused materials and structures from previous editions. Within the luminous plateaux of the former telephone exchange at Poste Bergère-Trudaine, framed by double-height concrete beams and light-filled courtyards, the result is an exhibition environment where the architecture’s past and present coexist.

Each year, the fair occupies a different, often transitional building in the French capital, structures caught in an in-between state, awaiting renovation or reuse, and turns them into temporary frameworks for contemporary art. Through this strategy, Paris Internationale confronts one of the city’s most pressing urban conditions, the underutilization and mono-functionality of its architectural stock.

 

Swiss architecture studio Christ & Gantenbein intervenes using light, reversible systems that interpret the building itself as an urban space. For the 2024 and 2023 editions, the fair was staged inside the historic Poste Bergère-Trudaine, a former telephone exchange complex at 15–17 Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière. Designed in 1911 by François Le Coeur, with later additions from 1919 and 1935, the ensemble combines monumental industrial volumes with art deco ornamentation by sculptor Szabo. Its stripped-down interiors, left bare in anticipation of future renovation, provided a raw, infrastructural backdrop for the fair’s 71 galleries spread over 5,000 square meters.
