The 2025 Professional winner in the Design for Social Innovation is The Lotus Ring from Julia Lemle at Lotus. With this ring you can control anything—lights, fans, appliances, even TVs. With this product you can convert any space into an accessible space in seconds—and you can take it with you wherever you go.
The Design for Social Innovation Student category goes to Chelsea Greenwell at Academy of Art University for Bio Lumi. Bio Lumi is safe and accessible lighting, harnessing the same technology designed by nature for those that need it most. Light is created by adding an effervescent tablet from a stainless-steel tablet container, housed in the lamp, which is dropped into water creating light for 20+ hours.
The jury team for Design for Social Impact was led by Valerie Kramis the co-founder at Agenda28. Kramis was joined by Cecile Rivera the Founder & Lead Consultant at CRL Communications Consultants, and by Luis Acosta who is a Country Manager at 47 Brand.
The 2025 Design for Social Impact celebrates projects designed to directly benefit social, humanitarian, community or environmental needs including social impact work for community or environmental impact initiatives, products for underrepresented communities, distribution systems, disaster relief, and the fight for racial justice and humanitarian efforts.
