Rolls-Royce has unveiled a one-of-one embroidered Phantom Dentelle in Dubai, commissioned by a Middle Eastern client as a gift for their father. The automotive project was overseen by the brand’s Private Office Dubai, a regional hub dedicated to personal commissions.

 

The design takes inspiration from a piece of rare couture lace, chosen for its intricate floral elements and luminous texture. Crafted on a traditional Leavers loom, the lace’s dimensional detailing informed both the embroidered interior and bespoke exterior finish.

Inside the Roll-Royce, the full-width Gallery — a defining feature of the Phantom — displays a custom embroidered panel. Rolls-Royce designers interpreted the lace through over 160,000 stitches, layering eight embroidery techniques in colors such as Rose Gold, Sunrise, and Oatmeal.

 

The result is a mesh-like base made with a triple-run stitch, overlaid with satin and raised embroidery to evoke the sheen and contours of couture floral forms. The stitching captures shifts in light, creating a quiet shimmer throughout the cabin.

Seed Stories art installation also serves as ‘hotel’ for bees

Nestled in the heart of Wakehurst, Kew’s wild botanic garden in West Sussex, a remarkable new installation is teaching us how art and science can unite for bee conservation. “Seed Stories” by visual artist Kristina Pulejkova is more than just a work of art. It is a thoughtful, practical contribution to pollinator conservation in the UK, blending sustainability, science, and digital technology in a way that feels both innovative and deeply meaningful.

“Seed Stories” features four striking wooden sculptures, each carefully crafted to serve as both an artwork and a bee hotel. Pulejkova’s vision was to create pieces that not only inspire the imagination but also provide real refuge for bees at a time when their habitats are increasingly threatened by environmental changes. The design of these pollinator hotels draws direct inspiration from the Millennium Seed Bank’s collection at Wakehurst. GameCard Turns Raspberry Pi Into the World’s Slimmest Retro Handheld

Chiangmai Life Architects unveils its latest bamboo creation, The Bull at Zabb e Lee, a pavilion set amidst the rice paddies on the outskirts of Chiang Mai in Thailand. Designed for a traditional Thai cooking school founded by a young local couple, the structure brings together food, architecture, and the expressive qualities of natural materials. The structure marks the third collaboration between the architects and Zabb e Lee Cooking School, following the popularity of their previous bamboo ‘sala’ buildings. 

 

The pavilion sits in a tight corner of the property, with a large tree on one side and a small pond on the other. It wasn’t an easy spot to build on, but the architects treated it as an opportunity. They came up with a U-shaped layout that wraps neatly around the edges of the site, making the most of the space without blocking the view of the surrounding rice fields. As they worked with the curves and flow of the design, a distinctive shape began to appear, one that resembled a bull’s head, complete with raised ‘horns’. These upward arches became the entrances to the building, giving the structure a strong, energetic presence.

KFC Partnered With Asus ROG to release themed keycaps that come free with your burger

The mechanical keyboard community has seen some wild collaborations over the years, but KFC China teaming up with ASUS ROG to create branded keycaps might just take the cake. Or should I say, take the bucket? These aren’t your typical artisan keycaps crafted by boutique makers in limited runs of 50 units. This is a fast-food giant diving headfirst into enthusiast keyboard territory, and honestly, the execution is surprisingly solid.

To be honest, it isn’t the first time KFC’s tried wooing the gaming community. In 2020, they debuted the KFConsole, a gaming PC designed to take aim at Xbox and PlayStation. Although this particular ‘campaign’ isn’t as elaborate, it isn’t vaporware either. These keycaps are ACTUALLY available at KFC Chin outlets, along with a Wagyu burger that comes branded with the ASUS ROG logo. Why? I honestly don’t know…

If you’re someone who hauls kids, groceries, or boxes around town, a cargo ebike is an excellent solution. But do you really want to own a separate, smaller, more nimble ebike for everyday commuting?
