Someone Built A 1,064-Piece LEGO Super Saiyan Goku And It Looks Stunning

For most of its existence, LEGO acted like anime didn’t exist. Star Wars, sure. Marvel, absolutely. Batman, SpongeBob, even the Titanic, all fair game. But anime sat in a weird blind spot for decades, despite fans on LEGO Ideas practically begging for a shot at Naruto, Totoro, or literally anything with a Kamehameha wave in it. Then One Piece happened in 2025, technically through Netflix’s live action version rather than the actual anime, and the door creaked open just enough for people to start hoping.

Enter tulodici, a LEGO Ideas builder who decided to test exactly how far that door swings with a full brick-built Super Saiyan Goku. It is dramatic, it is articulated within an inch of its life, and it uses a hair building trick borrowed from LEGO’s botanical sets, which is the kind of crossover I did not know I needed. Whether Bandai and Toei ever let this happen is a different question. But the build itself deserves the spotlight regardless.

The build recreates Goku’s Namek transformation scene, mid Kamehameha charge, standing on a cracked chunk of alien terrain with translucent yellow aura shards erupting around his feet. It runs 1,064 pieces, and tulodici notes almost everything used is already in production, only eight colors would need to be newly molded, which is a genuinely reasonable ask by LEGO Ideas standards. The whole figure is built on ball and turntable joints, so it holds a proper dynamic fighting stance rather than the stiff, glued-in-place look a lot of big display figures fall into.

My favorite detail, though, is the hair. Anime hair is notoriously the hardest thing to replicate in bricks, all sharp angles and gravity defying spikes, and tulodici solved it by clipping yellow wedge pieces onto two stacked steering wheel elements, a technique he pulled from LEGO’s modern botanical plant sets. It is a smart piece of cross pollination, using a flower-building trick to fake spiky hair texture while keeping the whole thing structurally sound underneath. Elsewhere, spoiler pieces form the Turtle School gi’s shoulder pads without restricting arm movement, and mudguard pieces shape the boots. There is even a companion minifigure with a display stand and swappable hair, black for base Goku, yellow for Super Saiyan, so you can flex between forms depending on your mood that day.

As tulodici puts it, “turning this set into reality is going to take OVER 9000 supporters,” which, yes, is the joke you think it is, and I respect the commitment to the bit.

The bigger question is whether LEGO would ever greenlight this even with the votes. Dragon Ball’s license sits with Bandai and Toei, a much tougher door than the Netflix deal that got One Piece through. For context, Naruto’s Ichiraku Ramen build cleared 10,000 supporters and got pushed to LEGO’s Parking Lot stage this year, while two Avatar: The Last Airbender projects hit the same milestone and got rejected outright. So the votes matter, but they are not the whole battle.

This Bulgarian Bank Branch Looks Like You’re Sitting Inside a Crystal

Walls, generally speaking, have one job. Stand there, hold up the ceiling, maybe hide some plumbing, and stay out of everyone’s way. DA Architects looked at that job description for the DSK Bank flagship branch in Sofia and decided it was criminally boring. So instead of a wall, they built a single continuous folded surface in punchy olive green that runs the length of the branch and somehow moonlights as a bench, a desk, an ATM housing, a screen bezel, and a light fixture, all without changing material once.

The trick is genuinely clever once you notice it. Every fold in that green ribbon is doing structural or functional work, not just decorative flexing, and the surrounding white louvers exist mostly to give the whole thing a clean edge to disappear into. Sit inside one of those angular little niches and you are basically perched inside a piece of the wall itself. It is origami logic applied to interior architecture, and it turns a routine bank visit into something closer to sitting inside a crystal.

The branch sits inside The Mall on Tsarigradsko Shose in Sofia, and it was built out between October 2016 and early 2017 as the pilot for a much bigger idea. DA Architects had won a competition to redesign DSK’s entire branch network, and this space was the proof of concept, the one location that had to sell an entire bank on going full geometry. At roughly 270 square metres, it is not a massive footprint, but the design punches well above it by refusing to waste a single wall surface on doing nothing.

Old-school bank branches keep everything locked in the center, tellers, machines, security, and make customers orbit around the edges like they cannot be trusted too close to the cash. DA Architects flipped that completely, pushing every functional unit, screen, and device to the periphery and leaving the entire core of the room open. It is the kind of move that only makes sense once you realize digital banking already killed the old security logic, most people just never bothered to redesign the room to match.

The material choices back up the concept instead of just decorating it. MDF louvers and mirror-polished stainless furniture handle the hard surfaces, while the green strip itself splits into solid panels where devices are built in and softer upholstered ones where people actually sit, a small distinction that keeps the whole thing from feeling like one giant showroom prop. Behind the louvers and green niches, the studio tucked away cabling and services, so the geometry reads as intentional rather than as a skin bolted over a normal room.

Tucked at the back is a private consultation room sealed off by a switchable glass wall, milky one second, fully transparent the next, once you run current through it. It is a small gesture buried at the end of a much louder design, but it says a lot about the studio’s instincts. They know exactly when to let geometry do the talking, and exactly when to go quiet.

Razer’s Pompompurin Kraken Kitty V2 headphones Brings Sanrio charm to gaming

Razer is adding another Sanrio character to its growing lineup of gaming accessories, this time giving Pompompurin the starring role on its Kraken Kitty V2 BT wireless headphones. The Pompompurin Edition takes the familiar feline-inspired headset and reworks its appearance around the yellow Sanrio character, complete with distinctive ears and themed detailing. It is scheduled to arrive at Target online and in stores on October 4, 2026, priced at $140.

Rather than simply applying printed artwork to an existing headset, Razer has incorporated Pompompurin’s visual identity directly into the hardware. The headband features the character’s signature ears and brown beret, while additional artwork appears underneath the headband. The result is a character-inspired object compared to other conventional gaming headphones with a decorative skin.

Underneath the playful exterior, the cans retain the core hardware of the Kraken Kitty V2 BT. It uses Razer’s TriForce 40 mm drivers, which separate high, mid, and low frequencies for clearer audio, along with Bluetooth 5.2 and a dedicated Gaming Mode designed to reduce wireless latency. The audio accessory is compatible with Windows PCs, Android and iOS devices, making it suitable beyond a traditional gaming setup. Communication is handled by an integrated HyperClear cardioid microphone rather than a protruding boom mic. Razer says its pickup pattern is tuned to prioritize the user’s voice while reducing sound from other directions. The headphones also support 7.1 surround sound for positional audio, although that feature is limited to Windows 10 64-bit and newer systems.

The visual side is equally configurable. Razer Chroma RGB lighting illuminates the earcups, with support for more than 16.8 million colors and a range of effects. The Pompompurin edition additionally supports stream-reactive lighting, allowing the illumination to respond to emotes, alerts, and other activity during streams. Comfort comes from hybrid fabric and leatherette ear cushions, while the headset weighs approximately 325 grams. USB-C handles charging, and the battery is rated for up to 40 hours depending on configuration. Razer’s broader specifications list up to 40 hours with lighting enabled and up to 60 hours with Chroma RGB disabled.

The Pompompurin Edition truly carries a collectible identity, and at that price tag it is an absolute buy for fans. Like other themed Kraken Kitty V2 BT editions, this pair of cans stands out for its character-focused design, as much as its gaming features. For sure, an eye-catcher on the streets for onlookers!

Your Dead Computer’s CD-ROM Drive Can Become a Real Audio Player Thanks To This Upcycled Project

Every household has one drawer nobody wants to open. It’s full of cables that match nothing, a phone charger for a handset you haven’t owned in a quarter century, and somewhere near the bottom, a beige CD-ROM drive that hasn’t spun a disc in about the same amount of time. We keep this stuff out of guilt, not usefulness. Throwing away hardware that still technically works feels like a small betrayal, so it just sits there gathering dust and doing nothing for anyone.

Korean studio das_POD looked at that exact drawer and decided the guilt was solvable. Their answer is CD-ROM PLAYER 01, a build-it-yourself audio kit that turns your dead PC’s optical drive into an actual, functioning CD player again. You supply the drive, they supply a laser-cut aluminum shell, a control board, and instructions that skip the soldering iron entirely. The result looks intentional on the outside and slightly chaotic on the inside, which is probably the most honest metaphor for building your own tech that I’ve come across all year.

Nobody hands you a finished object here. The kit ships with laser-cut aluminum panels, an IDE controller board, a power PCB, a remote, and a bag of cables and hardware, but the actual CD-ROM drive isn’t included. You go find one yourself, from an old tower in the garage, a recycling center, or das_POD’s own stash of refurbished drives running $10 to $40. Assembly needs nothing more exotic than a multi-bit screwdriver, takes somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes, and every completed unit ends up looking slightly different depending on which drive you fed it.

The design decisions live in what das_POD chose to control and what it deliberately left alone. The enclosure comes in three finishes: a shot-blasted semi-gloss anodized version at $220, and matte black or orange powder coat, both at $190. The front panel keeps it simple, a small dot-matrix display for track number and time, five buttons for eject, play, stop, and skip. None of that hides the drive itself, which juts out below the panel wearing whatever branding it came with. That contrast, polished metal above, scuffed beige plastic below, is doing all the storytelling here.

We wrote about Teenage Engineering’s computer-2 last year, a PC case built from one folded sheet of plastic that the company gave away for free, purely to prove a case didn’t need to cost anything. das_POD is running the exact same playbook in reverse. Same bring-your-own-hardware logic, same flat-pack, screw-light assembly, except here you’re paying $190 to $220 for the shell and providing the part that actually plays music. One company treats the enclosure as a marketing stunt. The other treats it as the entire product. Neither is wrong, but it’s a funny thing to watch happen twice in one year.

There’s a built-in expiration date worth naming honestly. CD-ROM PLAYER 01 only works with older IDE drives, not the SATA ones from the last fifteen years, because IDE drives carried their own analog audio output, and that’s what makes the whole circuit work without extra decoding hardware. Which means the supply of compatible drives only shrinks from here. Kind of poetic for a project built entirely around giving old junk a second act.

Inside Mexico City’s Most Quietly Radical Wellness Studio

Mexico City doesn’t ease you into anything. It greets you loud, full, and relentless, a metropolis of over 20 million people spread across nearly 2,000 neighborhoods. So when a studio in the upscale Las Lomas neighborhood sets out to create a space for stillness, the design question isn’t just aesthetic. It’s almost philosophical: how do you convince a body that’s been absorbing the city’s noise to finally let go?

Talo Atelier’s answer is Align Studio, a 2,150-square-foot Pilates and yoga sanctuary, and the first thing you notice is that the architecture refuses to let a single surface go unaddressed. Light-oak tambour paneling covers every wall and then keeps going, curving continuously onto the ceiling without interruption. No hard corner, no visual break, no moment where one surface hands off to the next. The effect is subtle but immediate: the geometry of the room stops registering as a box and starts reading as something closer to a shell. Your shoulders drop before you’ve even unrolled a mat.

The arched openings cut into those tambour walls are where the design earns its most dramatic moment. They’re not standard doorways. They’re wave-shaped, organic cutouts that swell and dip like a drawn breath, each one edged in a thin line of warm LED light that traces the curve. Stand in the main studio and look toward the mirrors, and the arches repeat into the reflection endlessly, a tunnel of warm wood and glowing curves that makes the 2,150 square feet feel simultaneously intimate and infinite. It’s a genuinely beautiful spatial trick, and it works because the proportions are exactly right.

The flexibility of the space is built directly into those tambour walls, which also function as folding partitions. Panels pivot to open the studios into a single connected floor, or close to create separate rooms for different class formats. That kind of multifunctional thinking usually involves some visual compromise, a seam that doesn’t quite disappear, a hinge that catches the eye. Here it’s seamless. The studio can reconfigure itself and you’d never know it wasn’t always that way.

Inside the practice spaces, the material palette stays rigorously honest. Oak floors, natural linen aerial hammocks, yoga mats with soft rounded edges in undyed tones, small concrete props. Nothing competes with anything else. The hammocks, in particular, read almost like an extension of the architecture rather than equipment added after the fact, their organic drape rhyming with the curved arches above them. It’s the kind of considered detail that’s easy to miss but hard to unfeel.

The changing rooms are where the design shifts register, and I find them just as interesting as the studios. A large circular skylight punches through the ceiling in concentric oval rings, dropping natural light onto a deep olive-green cylindrical reception desk below. It’s the one moment of tonal contrast in the entire space, and it lands perfectly because of how restrained everything around it is. The curved plaster bench running along one wall, backlit at the base, is topped with small round cushions in warm clay. A circular mirror with a soft halo of light hangs opposite. The whole room feels like a decompression chamber between the city and the mat, which is exactly the point.

Even the bathrooms carry the idea through. Travertine vessel sinks sit atop stone pedestals, framed by arched backlit mirrors set into the oak paneling. The warm, sandy tones of the stone pull from the same palette as the studios, so the experience of the building never fractures. You don’t feel like you’ve stepped into a different space when you walk from the practice room to the locker area to the bathroom. The material story is continuous, and that continuity is doing a lot of the emotional work.

Wellness spaces are tricky to get right. Most err on either end of a familiar spectrum: clinical whiteness that feels more like a hospital than a sanctuary, or over-styled maximalism that prioritizes the Instagram moment over actual calm. Align Studio sits confidently outside both. Talo Atelier built a space where the architecture does the transitional work so the person inside it doesn’t have to. At 2,150 square feet, that’s no small thing.

This Clip On Handle Turns Any Water Bottle Pack Into A Kettlebell

Every broke gym rat has done this at some point. You run out of dumbbells, you eyeball two water jugs, you duct tape a broom handle across them, and suddenly you have a homemade kettlebell that looks like a science fair project gone wrong. It works, technically, but it also looks like something you’d hide before your date comes over. Purra just looked at that entire genre of improvised home gym equipment and decided to make it official, good looking, and branded. The result is a plastic handle that clips onto a pair of their mineral water bottles and turns them into an actual kettlebell, weight marking and all.

Designed as a marketing stunt tied to Purra’s presence at HYROX Bangkok, the handle snaps over two 1.5 liter bottles to hit exactly 3 kilograms, which is either a happy coincidence or someone in R&D did their homework. The dome is molded in the same powder blue as Purra’s label, debossed with the brand name, and shaped with the same scalloped horns you’d find on a competition kettlebell. Nothing about it screams cheap giveaway. It screams someone in the marketing department actually asked an industrial designer for help instead of ordering branded tote bags like everyone else.

I have made my own version of this exact object during the pandemic, so I have some opinions on how well the real thing pulls it off. The horn spacing on the handle matches a proper competition kettlebell almost to the millimeter, wide enough for a two handed swing without your knuckles clipping the bottle caps. That is the detail that separates a design object from a novelty prop. A lot of branded merch gets the silhouette right and ignores the ergonomics entirely, and you end up with something that photographs well and hurts your wrist on rep three.

Two 1.5 liter bottles of water land you at 3 kilograms on the nose, and the handle stamps that number right into the plastic like it wants to be taken seriously as an actual training tool. Most branded merch settles for looking the part. This one does the arithmetic and shows its work, which is a small thing but it’s the kind of small thing that tells you someone cared past the pitch deck.

Purra is Singha’s mineral water brand, sourced from nearly 1,000 feet underground in Sing Buri, and the kind of company that already runs annual designer bottle collaborations, so a marketing play like this isn’t a stretch for them creatively. HYROX is arguably the best possible stage for it, since the format runs on eight fixed equipment stations and the kettlebell is one of them, so a water brand showing up with literal kettlebell bottles is closer to a punchline than a pitch.

Whether this thing gets mass produced or stays a one-off activation prop is unclear, and honestly that’s fine. Not every good idea needs a retail SKU to justify existing. Sometimes the point is just proving the trick works, and this one does. I won’t be surprised if we start seeing 3D builds on online platforms for people to print on their own!

Someone Designed an Off-Grid Modular Home From a Farm Equipment Catalog

The search for affordable, sustainable housing tends to produce two kinds of proposals. The first involves entirely new materials, new manufacturing processes, and supply chains that don’t yet exist at useful scale. The second starts with what’s already available and asks a different question of it. The latter approach is rarer, and when it works, it tends to produce something far more buildable than even the most elegant custom solution.

The Homestead House belongs to that second category. This conceptual design takes the prefabricated steel arch building system ordinarily found on agricultural properties, and reorganizes it into a modular, off-grid residential structure. The system is already commercially available, already engineered for structural strength, and already fire-resistant. The concept doesn’t ask for anything to be invented; it simply redirects what already exists.

The arches and straight panels are formed from thin, recyclable steel sheets that bolt together with simple tools, requiring no skilled labor and no secondary support structure. The resulting shell is extremely strong despite using very little material. More usefully, it comes apart the same way it goes together. A structure built this way can be fully disassembled and reassembled somewhere else for an entirely different purpose, which makes the material itself far more durable in the life-of-a-building sense than most conventional construction.

Modularity is central to how the Homestead House adapts over time. The individual arched modules cluster in different configurations to suit different needs, and the footprint isn’t fixed at the time of construction. A household that grows doesn’t have to move; rooms can be added one module or even one arch at a time. The structure can equally be reduced if circumstances change, making it genuinely responsive to the way life actually shifts over the years.

Insulating the steel shell involves erecting a second, lighter-gauge structure inside the outer one and blowing cellulose insulation, made from recycled newspaper, between the two layers to whatever depth the climate demands. The thickness is entirely adjustable, which means the same structural system works for a mild coastal site and an exposed inland location where winters are more severe. It’s a low-tech solution that works with the building’s logic rather than against it.

The concept is designed to operate completely off the standard utility grid. Electricity comes from photovoltaic cells and a vertical-axis wind turbine. Passive solar design handles heating and cooling, domestic water is solar-heated, and rainwater collected from the roof arches feeds above- or below-ground storage. More advanced options, including solar- and wind-powered hydrogen production, are also part of the broader energy framework the concept envisions.

What holds the design together philosophically is the idea that a new manufacturing facility isn’t required to produce affordable, sustainable housing. The arch building system already exists, already has infrastructure behind it, and already serves an industry that needs strong, low-cost structures assembled quickly. Borrowing that system for a different purpose avoids the resource cost of starting from scratch, which is one of the less-discussed obstacles in alternative construction.

The Homestead House raises practical questions that most sustainable housing proposals never have to answer. It doesn’t ask for new materials, new tools, or new supply chains. It asks instead what happens when you apply a different kind of imagination to what’s already sitting in a farm equipment catalog.

You Can Feel Van Gogh’s Starry Night on This $2,399 MSI Laptop

Laptop aesthetics have grown considerably more ambitious over the past few years. Brands that once shipped identical black or silver slabs have started exploring textures, colorways, and material finishes with more intention. Most of these efforts stop at surface level: a matte coating here, an embossed pattern there. Every so often, though, something arrives that treats the hardware itself as a meaningful design object rather than just a functional appliance with a prettier lid.

The MSI Prestige 14 Flip AI+ Van Gogh Edition is part of MSI’s Artisan Collection, a line that takes the collaboration between technology and fine art more seriously than most. This particular edition draws from two of Van Gogh’s most recognizable nightscapes: Starry Night Over the Rhône and The Starry Night. The two paintings carry different emotional temperatures, one calm and reflective, the other intense and restless, and that contrast is embedded into the laptop’s design language through varying blue tones, textures, and finishes across the chassis.

The lid carries a textured rendering of Starry Night Over the Rhône that you can feel with your fingertips, a tactile detail that distinguishes it from the flat printed graphics that typically pass for special editions in the category. The keyboard deck continues the theme with a deep blue surface and golden key legends that, in low light, appear illuminated like a reflection on the Rhône itself. It’s a more cohesive design treatment than most art collaborations of this type manage to deliver.

Beneath that, the hardware doesn’t ask you to compromise for the art. The machine runs on Intel’s Core Ultra X9 378H processor, paired with an Intel Arc B390 GPU,32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The 14-inch OLED touchscreen covers 100% DCI-P3 at 1920×1200 resolution and is certified for Low Blue Light and flicker-free output. At 11.9mm at its thinnest point and 1.37 kg, the aluminum chassis keeps the whole thing genuinely light.

The 2-in-1 hinge lets the screen fold flat, which makes the MSI Nano Pen feel considerably more relevant than on a conventional convertible. The stylus lives in a dedicated groove along the chassis bottom and pairs via Bluetooth. For quick sketching, note-taking during meetings, or marking up documents in presentation mode, it’s a more integrated solution than the sticky-magnet approach most competitors use.

The laptop qualifies as a Copilot+ PC, with a 50 TOPS NPU handling AI tasks locally, alongside Live Captions, AI Noise Cancellation, and Windows Copilot. That’s a meaningful premium over the base Prestige 14 Flip AI+, which starts around $1,699 without the art treatment. The gap isn’t just cosmetic; the Van Gogh Edition represents the top configuration of the line, and the design treatment alone makes it a genuinely different object to own and carry.

For a category that doesn’t often justify that kind of price separation, the Artisan Collection at least makes the argument clearly. The spec sheet is strong enough to hold up in any direct comparison, and the hardware behind the painting doesn’t need the art to justify itself.

Motsmann Outranger’s camper trailer gives you off-grid comfort without the size and hassle of an RV

Camping has a way of making us rethink how much we actually need. A tent can be wonderfully simple, but inclement weather, uneven ground, and the lack of a comfortable place to sleep can quickly make the romance of sleeping outdoors wear thin. Larger RVs solve those problems, but they also bring more complexity and restrictions to the journey. The Motsmann Outranger is different, as it packs the essentials for a comfortable two-person escape into a compact trailer that can venture well beyond paved roads.

At first glance, the Outranger looks like an unusually squared-off interpretation of the classic teardrop trailers. That shape is deliberate, though, as Oregon-based Motsmann Engineering combines the compact footprint of a teardrop with the more upright proportions of a squaredrop, then wraps it in a molded composite body. The result is a camper trailer that feels familiar yet distinctly modern, with smooth exterior surfaces and a slightly automotive character. Measuring 13.5 feet from hitch to rear bumper, the Outranger is small enough to remain manageable behind a pickup, SUV, 4×4, or crossover. It weighs 1,450 pounds dry in the base configuration, making the relatively low weight one of its biggest advantages for off-grid travel.

Motsmann has also taken an unusually durable approach to construction, with the body assembled from six molded composite structural panels rather than traditional wood-based construction. Beneath the rig sits a bolted, fully galvanized 3-mm steel chassis. The bolted frame is intended to make repairs and future upgrades easier, while the absence of wood throughout the camper eliminates concerns about swelling and warping from moisture. The lower body receives a Raptor polyurethane coating for additional protection. Underneath, a Timbren 2000 HD independent suspension and 15-inch wheels wrapped in 30-inch Falken Wildpeak tires give the little trailer considerably more confidence away from smooth roads. It is still a compact camper rather than a full-size expedition rig, but its proportions and hardware are clearly designed with rougher terrain in mind.
