The 2025 Professional winner in the Tools category is Pella Steady Set Interior Installation System from the Pella Corporation. Created by the Pella Innovation Team the Steady Set interior installation is the first and only INTERIOR install system. It directly addresses the obstacles of unsafe, inconsistent, and time-consuming installation due to lack of opening accessibility. This system streamlines the installation process and answers the needs of professionals in the field whether it’s avoiding dangerously tall ladders, uneven ground, weather delays or quality and consistency issues with traditional installs.

The Student Tools winner is Spark by Lenz Connor Bätzing and Mårten Malmnäs at the Umeå Institute of Design. Spark is designed to extend learning beyond the classroom, supporting children with homework, tutoring, or even playful explorations. Spark uses laser projections to create an immersive, hands-on learning environment in combination with analog materials like schoolbooks and notebooks.

The jury team for Tools was led by Jury Captain Irina Kozlovskaya who is the Global Head of Industrial Design and CMF at ABB E-Mobility. Kozkivskaya’s jury team included Annie Jean-Baptiste author of Building for Everyone and Founder and Director of Product Inclusion & Equity at Google, Kenneth Young the Founder and Creative Director at Now Studio, Quan Jasinski the Creative Director at Microsoft Surface Industrial Design, and Eliot Cohen Pirenne the Senior Design Director at Lululemon.

The 2025 Tools category features only consumer products or services designed for individual use with the intention of improving efficiency and productivity, supporting craft, making and personal building this includes hardware tools, productivity applications, educational tools.
