The Mustang Boss 302 restomod<\/a> from earlier this year piqued our interest for two reasons \u2013 first, of course, the Mustang element, and second, the borderline militaristic aggression that evokes an alternate dystopian world character. While the exposed V8, front splitter, and the yellow-tinted LED headlights on the AltraConcept\u2019s restomod look borderline militarized, this restomod by Trick Rides sticks to a more conventional look.<\/p>\n

The Oklahoma-based restomod pro calls this Scorched, turning the modest 1969 Mustang supplied by Roadster Shop into a modern beast with an aerospace-grade exterior. The limited-run halo car, slated for appearance at the SEMA 2025 show in Las Vegas (from November 4 to November 8), comes with a full carbon-fiber body and widebody proportions, lending the muscle a beefier stance.<\/p>\n

Designer: Trick Rides<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

To make the whole body kit fit perfectly on the classic Mustang, the team used 3D scans of the original\u2019s chassis, and the modification was done in compliance with the wind tunnel testing data. This includes the lights and windows, which are flush-mounted. Since they\u2019ve used the pre-peg carbon for the outer shell construction, the muscle car is now lighter by approximately 600 pounds and more rigid. Other than the exterior modifications, Trick Rides is going a step beyond by offering the V8 in a supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote, a Kaase 429 \u201cBoss Nine,\u201d or a Ford Performance 427 variant.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The performance of Toyo R888R tires on the Forgeline wheels with Baer brakes is honed by the Tremec T-56 six-speed manual. The tires at the front are 315\/30, and the rear gets super-wide 335\/30 boots. The cabin also gets a makeover with high-back seating done by TMI. Doors on the vehicle have been custom-made from carbon fiber as well, reducing weight and adding structural strength. Inside, the interior blends retro and modern elements, pairing Alcantara and leather upholstery with a digital display and well-placed analog controls that ensure driver focus.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The suspension system is fully redesigned with adjustable coilovers, allowing precise tuning for handling and stability. The Baer braking system provides strong stopping power, critical for managing the immense output from the engine choices. Each powertrain option is tailored to deliver a distinct driving experience, from the supercharged punch of the 5.0-liter Coyote to the brute force of the naturally aspirated Ford Performance 427.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The exhaust system is tuned to produce an aggressive yet controlled tone, delivering both performance satisfaction and compliance with emissions standards. The widebody layout plays a functional role, not only giving the Scorched a more aggressive appearance but also improving aerodynamics and tire clearance, supporting superior road grip. Flush-mounted lights and windows further reduce drag, enhancing efficiency without diminishing the classic Mustang silhouette.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
