According to several sources familiar with the matter, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/tag\/airbnb\/\"><strong>Airbnb<\/strong><\/a> co-founder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/tag\/joe-gebbia\/\"><strong>Joe Gebbia<\/strong><\/a> has been selected to serve as the government\u2019s first Chief Design Officer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The National Design Studio will operate within the White House Office of the Chief of Staff and is scheduled to run for three years. The studio will also work with the Administrator of General Services to update the United States Web Design System and ensure compliance with the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act. Gebbia\u2019s prior experience includes redesigning federal retirement processes, and his work in this role will also focus on critical services such as the Internal Revenue Service.
