Flipping a latch releases the front fork, which you can then remove to plug in the longer cargo-hauling module, or vice versa.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The bike was invented by Belgian mechanical engineer Benjamin Declercq. Declercq decided he could use both a regular bike and a cargo bike, but that it didn&#8217;t make sense to pay for the most expensive components\u2014the battery, motor and transmission\u2014twice. Not to mention the storage space required to house two bikes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The steel bike features a Bosch motor and offers three different battery sizes, all of which mount to the seat tube. Depending on which battery you choose, you can get from 75km to 110km (47 miles to 86 miles) of range.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Urbanisto was unveiled at the recent Eurobike 2025 show in Germany, and is already in production. Buy-in starts at \u20ac6,499 (USD $7,638) for the version with the open-sided cargo module.
