The 2025 Professional winner in the Visual Communication <\/a>is Wayfinding Way Better: Metro’s Wayfinding Improvements<\/a> by the WMATA Team and including Jacobs Engineering, Entro, Order NYC, Joseph Chan, Ray Yau, Daron Showalter, Tom Proctor, Nick Palastro, and Brian Anderson. Metro refreshed its wayfinding and digital information systems to unify and elevate the customer experience through thoughtful design, better data, and contextual awareness. It brought together data, design, software, and human insights to create a more seamless journey.<\/p>\n

The Student Visual Communication <\/a> winner is Incomplete Encyclopedia of Memory<\/a> by Kyoki Takahashi at ArtCenter College of Design. This book explores memory from two perspectives: one that thinks, and one that feels. Designed as an “Incomplete Encyclopedia of Memory, the book is divided into two parts: one side explores memory from a logical perspective, while the other delves into the sensory and emotional aspects. <\/p>\n

The jury team for the<\/a> Visual Communication<\/a> category was led by Jury Captain YanYan Zhang, an Associate Partner and Executive Creative Director at VSA Partners. Zhang put together a jury which includes Kelly Bjork, a Partner at IDEO, Michael Braley, the Creative Director at Braley Design, and Liz Oh, a Senior UX Design Manager at HubSpot.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Visual Communication<\/a> category includes all visual and graphic design, branding and identity projects for print, digital or physical environments such as logos and identity systems, environmental graphics, signage, typefaces, infographics, motion graphics, print design, and advertising. <\/p>\n
